De Megatherioidea zijn een superfamilie uit de onderorde van de luiaards (Folivora). Tot deze groep behoren de nog levende familie Bradypodidae, waartoe de drievingerige luiaards (Bradypus) behoren, en de uitgestorven familie Megatheriidae, die een aantal grondluiaards omvat.[1][2]
